Assisted Living Glossary: Accreditation

Accreditation is a seal of approval or stamp of approval from a non government organization such as the CCAC, the JCAHO, and the CARF.

• CCAC - Continuing Care Accreditation Commission
• JCAHO - Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations
• CARF - Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

A assisted living home must meet requirements set forth by these orgzanizations and must undergo a evaluation to receive accreditation.
